ALLAAH AZZA WA JALLA mentions in the quran

Ash`ath bn Sulaim ??? ???? ???reports, ?I heard my aunt talking about her uncle who said, ?Whilst I was walking in Madinah Munawwarah, suddenly there was a person behind me saying, ?Wear your izaar (lungi, wrapper worn from waist to ankle) higher because doing so is a source of piety and long lasting.? When I turned it was the Messenger of Allaah ??? ???? ???? ? ???. So I said: ?Oh Rasul of Allaah, it is but a simple izaar.? Upon this he ??? ???? ???? ? ??? asked, ?Don?t you have an example and model in me?? I looked at him and his izaar was up to half of his shin.?(Tirmidhi)
Commentary:
We have been warned strictly in the Ahaadeeth on the wearing of a izaar or trousers below the ankle. All those parts that hang over the ankles will be burnt in the fire.
Abdur Rahmaan says: ?I asked Abu Saeed Khudri ? regarding the izaar. He replied: ?You have asked a very meaningful question. Rasulullaah ??? ???? ???? ? ??? has said: ?The izaar of a Muslim should reach till the middle of the shin, and there is no harm if it reaches above his ankle. But those portions that hang over the ankles will burn in the fire of Jahannam. The one that lets his clothes flow over his ankles in pride Allaah ?? ? ?? will not look at him on the day of Qiyaamah.? (Abu Dawud)
Warnings like these have been given in other Ahaadeeth too. One should take strict care of this. In our times it has become a fashion to let the clothing (jubbah,trousers, lungis etc.) hang over the ankles, so much so that we treat it to be something petty and inconsequential and pay no heed to the warning of Sayyidunna Rasulullaah ??? ???? ???? ? ???.
